Drawing from Life

With no more than simple charcoal and pastel, an artist must learn to capture likeness while preserving the subtle values between light and dark as seen with the naked eye in ‘real -time’. Without this essential skill, the artist’s final works using paint will look flat like a photograph rather than three dimensional and ‘life- like’.
